The Forum will host two discussions of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation: “Strategies for Macro-regions as a Tool for Interregional Cooperation” and “Urban Agglomerations in Russia: the Choice of Development Model, Legislative and Regulatory Priorities”.
“If you want to consider the strategies for macro-regions as a tool of interregional cooperation, it is important to discuss priority approaches to strategу development, features of the key interregional cooperation projects, and the place of integrated investment projects in them. We expect the participants to share their proposals on developing such documents and the role that the regions should play in this process,” stated Mikhail Pryadilnikov, Deputy Head of the Analytical Center and moderator of the discussion.
The second discussion will raise the issues of the choice of development models and legislative and regulatory priorities for urban agglomerations. “The focus here will be on the legislative and regulatory initiatives (points of consensus, development crossroads, initial steps) and the outcomes of law-enforcement practice. The discussion will be focused on a possible balance between the interests of federal, regional and municipal authorities, priority model for urban agglomeration management, tools for joint economic activities of municipalities belonging to urban agglomeration and the participation of citizens in urban agglomeration management,” Mikhail Pryadilnikov said.
