SMEs - or small and medium-sized enterprises - are the backbone of economic development. In Russia and the Baltic Sea countries, many have been built up from scratch in the 1990s and run successful for decades. SMEs are mostly managed by owners and thus knowledge and jobs may be lost once the owners retire. Business transfer models can facilitate a takeover and tackle the challenge of keeping firms running successfully.
The round table will discuss best practices, innovative models and tools for SME business transfer, as well as conditions for the preservation, further development and prosperity of existing companies.
