Summary

Currently, various national strategies are being developed in Russia: AI Development Strategy, Microelectronics Development Strategy, Digital Economy Development Strategy, etc. These strategies must meet the requirements of the Federal Law № 172-FZ “On Strategic Planning in the Russian Federation”, i.e. contain a long-term economic forecast using PEST / World – Country – Region analyses.
The National Technological Initiative includes the establishment and maintenance of forecasting centers in the cities and regions of Russia to align strategies of different levels. Such centers are composed of multidisciplinary teams on the basis of higher education institutions involving government officials, talented youth and the growing number of digital engineers of the sixth technological paradigm. Establishing such centers in Moscow (including the Moscow region), Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk and St. Petersburg is a bold move to integrate forecasting into education and research.
The Presidential Grant “Creating and Testing a Pilot Forecasting Course TRENDS 2.0” was an open full-time and distant educational course on forecasting and strategic planning focused on solving the problems arising during the transition to the sixth technological paradigm. The seminars and games, held as part of the grant, are useful for verifying current and emerging national strategies.
The round table will become a platform to discuss relevant Russia’s innovation/industry development strategies.
