Summary

In 2020, the Republic of Karelia celebrates its 100th birthday. This cross-border region of Russia is actively involved in international economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, thereby raising large amounts of extra-budgetary funds.
The Republic of Karelia is actively involved in cooperation with the EU member states and Norway, including joint projects within the EU-Russia CBC Programmes. The Republic is ready to share its vast experience with other regions of Russia and open to joint scientific, educational, business, cultural and environmental projects.
