Welcome Address by the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin

Dear Friends!

I welcome all participants and guests of the XVIII Annual Strategic Planning Leaders Forum of the Regions and Cities of Russia!

Participants are invited to discuss a broad range of topics related to achieving national goals at the regional level. The recent experience of the national projects implementation brings up a number of issues. Many of them can be solved by identifying new actions aimed to achieve the goals, including wider participation of regions in implementing national projects. This situation now requires optimal use of strategic planning mechanisms and improving the efficiency of public administration institutions.

The Forum’s theme has long ago expanded beyond strategic planning. This year’s thematic lines include national goals and projects, international cooperation, sustainable development, strategic audit, digital economy, green technology and some others.  

Currently, Russia faces serious challenges of global character. To tackle them successfully, it is necessary to move towards sustainable and rapid economic growth, to improve people’s quality of life and to increase the efficiency of public administration system. I expect the Forum to result in bright ideas and innovations that can bring Russia to the forefront of development. The Forum’s friendly and inspiring atmosphere is perfect for searching for the truth and developing valuable proposals and recommendations.
