In a circular economy, the implementation of global and regional strategies for sustainable development such as the 2030 Agenda and the Baltic 2030 Action Plan, Russia’s Environmental Security Strategy until 2025 and St. Petersburg Socio-Economic Development Strategy until 2035 is in the common interest of all countries.
Participants of the foresight session will be able to present their views on the challenges of the circular economy that is aimed at improving the quality of people’s life and preserve natural resources of our planet.
This transition means greater investment in circular business models, the development and implementation of renewable energy and clean technology, and also significant changes in the legal framework.
Best practices and ongoing international cooperation projects involving St. Petersburg will serve as an example for the Forum participants in developing roadmaps for implementing national projects, as well as in developing their own strategies to accelerate sustainable urban development based on the transition to the circular economy.
Topics to be discussed:
1. How to attract investment in green infrastructure and cleantech cluster projects: renewable energy, clean water, clean air, green transportation, organic farming, and food production?
2. Which cities and countries are leaders in the circular economy and sustainable development? Success cases and best practices.
3. How do best practices of international cleantech cluster projects influence the implementation of national projects?
4. What benefits does Russia get from international cooperation projects with the countries in the Baltic Sea Region, Northern Europe and the EU?
